In addition to the workshops and camps held throughout the year, several other equine-related events are held annually at Texas A&M.
Annual Equine Night: Keeping a Healthy, Happy Horse – Held in January, the annual equine night is hosted by the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the Brazos County AgriLife Extension Office.
Legends Premier Stallion Season Auction – The Legends Premier Stallion Season Auction is an online auction to which stallion owners donate breedings (seasons) to benefit equine reproductive research, education, and clinical missions at Texas A&M University. Seasons from over 200 stallions—including Quarter Horse racing, cutting, barrel racing, reined cow and show horse—are typically donated each year from around the world.
Run For The Roses Banquet – Held in May, the Texas A&M Horse Judging Team hosts the Run for the Roses Banquet to watch the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” and to strengthen the horse judging program through celebrating current achievements and reconnecting with past members. Dressed in full Derby attire, participants enjoy the viewing of the Kentucky Derby on a 28-screen wall display, silent and live auctions, entertainment, a meal and awards for “Best Dressed” and “Best Derby Hat.”
Texas A&M Horse Center Sale – Held in May, the Texas A&M University Horse Center hosts an annual sale and features product of years of selective breeding for athletic performance horses as well as some of the most prominent and popular bloodlines in the industry today.
